Press the pusher and the roulette wheel spins — a ceramic ball rattling around a miniature wheel until it drops into a slot. It serves no purpose whatsoever. That is the entire point. It is the detail that makes someone stop mid-sentence and ask what you are wearing.
Underneath the trick sits a serious watch. A Japanese NH35A automatic movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist — no battery, ever. Sapphire crystal, the same material used on watches costing five times as much. A 316L stainless steel case with the weight to match.
It is a big watch. 46mm across, around 16mm thick. On a slim wrist it will read as a statement, because it is one. If you normally wear 40mm, measure before you buy.
The manufacturer rates it 5ATM. Our honest advice: rain and hand-washing, yes. Swimming, no. Automatic movements and water are a poor long-term marriage.
We are not going to tell you this is an heirloom. It is a well-made mechanical watch with a sense of humour, at a price that does not require a conversation with your accountant.
